If you live in a condo, townhome, or HOA community, it's likely your association has a variety of insurance coverages on the community to protect you, your neighbors and guests on the complex's common grounds like the pool, clubhouse, gym and walkways. What you may not know is that it may benefit you to have the insurance agency for your home as your community association.
There are several reasons why it may make sense to consider looking into using the same insurance agency as your association.
- Coordination of coverages. When you work with the same insurance agency as your community association, you can easily talk to your dedicated agent at anytime, who can ensure that your policies (managed in the "Personal Lines" department of the agency) coordinate well with your Association's policies (handled in the "Commercial Lines" department), ensuring you don't have any unnecessary gaps or duplications of coverage that aren't necessary. (And if you DO have duplications, removing them can save you money!)
- Discounts. As the agency that serves both you and your community association, we have access to your association's mitigation inspections, which we can use to get you discounts on your own policies!
- Evidence of Insurance. If your home is financed, typically your bank will request proof of HOA insurance as well as individual insurance, to ensure both the interior and exterior areas of your property are properly covered. Having one agency means you can go to one place to get all of that information quickly and easily.
- Familiarity. The agency will already be familiar with your complex, which means better service for you as one of its residents!
