How to Reduce Your Insurance Premium

Many of us are seeing significant (and surprising) increases to our home insurance premiums today, but you may not know what you can do about it!

If you plan on replacing your roof soon, that can help reduce your premium. If you lower your dwelling limit, money can be saved there. You can also increase hurricane and "all other perils" deductibles to reduce your overall spend. It's just a matter of what you are comfortable with. (Note: hurricane deductibles can only be altered at renewal, others can be changed at any time.)

Additional ways to reduce your monthly insurance cost are to install a home security system and maximize hurricane-related opening protection on all windows, glass doors, skylights and other "glazed openings" (and remember, a new wind mitigation will be required for proof to qualify for such a credit).

Keep in mind, any changes or home improvements you make should be reported through your dedicated agent immediately so they can ensure your premiums see the appropriate credits!

One of the major benefits of working with an insurance agency like WREN is that we partner with dozens of insurance carriers and can shop all of the options to find the best possible policy for you. So whether you want to talk about making small changes to your existing policy to lower your rates - or if you'd rather re-shop your policy altogether - the simplest way to go about this is to simply give us a call. We're always happy to help.

Remember, we have families and homes here in Brevard County too, so we understand your concerns and strive to make your insurance experience as seamless as possible. We look forward to it!
